IDEAMODA FINALIST – DAYANA ANGELOVA
After graduating from High School Fine Arts School, I decided to study in Denmark Bachelor in Fashion Design, firmly convinced that I could not get a good education in Bulgaria, or that there was no realization in this field. Due to some disappointment, I moved to Amsterdam Fashion Institute for my third year of studies, and finally, not so sure in my beliefs, I chose to go back to Bulgaria, where I successfully graduated from Bachelor of Fashion at New Bulgarian University in 2018.
At the moment I think there is no more suitable place for development in the range of fashion for all young Bulgarian designers from Bulgaria and this contest and the finalists in it prove it.
In clothing design, I highly appreciate the small details, perfectly crafted by hand. I believe that this approach to work has a place in the future of high-street fashion, although it is overlooked for quick and cheap production. Among the high-end names that I watch with special interest are Chanel, Anne Demeulemeester, Thom Browne, Simon Rocha, Rodarte, Dilara Findikoglu. In the near future, I plan to create my own brand, which will eventually become a platform for experiments with other design and fine arts, and a major example of this is Ronan Bouroullec’s work.
