IDEAMODA is an international competition for young fashion designers, organised by New Bulgarian University (www.nbu.bg) and partners (Ivan Asen 22 Conceptual Design Platform, and Studio Komplekt Cultural Management Agency). The competition was launched in June 2018, and has so far held four editions. The ambitious goal of the organisers is a transparent and modern competition that will become a platform for the expression of young and talented people from Bulgaria and Europe. The competition was launched in June 2018, and has so far held four editions. The ambitious goal of the organisers is a transparent and modern competition that will become a platform for the expression of young and talented people from Bulgaria and Europe. The jury is composed of prominent fashion designers, stylists, journalists, fashion photographers. Many companies from the fashion industry, fashion publications and media supported the first three editions of IDEAMODA. Students in their final year of fashion studies, as well as designers up to the age of 35 who work for their own or another brand are eligible to participate in the competition.
So far, the competition has attracted former and current students from NBU, National Academy of Arts, Neofit Rilski University, Chernorizets Hrabar University of Science and Technology, AMTII, TU-Sofia, as well as IED Milano, Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine arts – Moldova, Politecnico di Milano, Frederick University Nicosia – Cyprus and others. The prize fund includes a cash prize for starting or supporting your own brand, training in a Master’s program in fashion at NBU, professional sewing equipment.
